The Hope Farm Christian Community

In Melbourne, November 1996, this small group of Christians received a message from the Lord that would change their lives forever. He said, “In the not too distant future, darkness would come across the land of Australia in the form of an Islamic fundamentalist invasion from our north, and many natural disasters would fall on the nation as well”. The Lord said if we were willing, He would send us to a place where He can use us to help the people who will be in need when these days come upon the nation. As we came together to pray we all felt it was God’s plan for our lives to be of service to the community He was sending us to.

As we packed our belongings more and more information was given to us. “Go to Warragul and I will show you some land I have chosen for you”. As we arrived we felt to enquire at a real estate agency who had a picture of a block of land for sale in his window. He informed us that it was in the process of being sold and the paper work was being prepared, yet we felt the Lord saying to offer him even less than the selling price. The agent rang the owner about our offer and the owner said he would cancel the original proposal and take a lesser price from us.

With this happening we knew we were at the right place God had said, but what were we to do next!  Slowly as we settled on the land the Lord explained that He had chosen us for our different occupations.  There was an award winning Baker who made bread the old way, not requiring big machines and could operate a wood fired oven. A qualified musician and recording engineer/producer, who is now operating the Neerim South Recording Studio. Then there was an entertainer who had won Melbourne’s best one man band award and owned and operated a recording studio which had now become the South West Recording Studio in WA.

Others also helped in growing Organic vegetables and finally an electronics guy who built and repaired computers. All of these men were now on one property ready to serve and help the community, not counting the women and children who had many skills as well. The Lord said Go!! and establish yourself in the industries that you know and I will be with you.

As we started out baking breads, providing music for functions, and repairing computers etc the Lord showed us that at some time in the future the main shops and industries will have very little for the people to live from, and the main source of food will be at markets and bartering.

Miraculously we have entered the farmers markets and more markets are asking us to come and provide our old style products. As a small Christian community, we are having great success and are finding our produce & services in more demand everyday as the Lord had promised. As we move further around Gippsland and to many other markets, we are meeting people who are suggesting we make lots of other goods such as bottled fruits, fresh wholesome vegetables & honey, which we hope to have some time in the future.  Yet in all this activity and enjoyment this is not the main task the Lord sent us out to do for the people. One day soon, we will be happy to teach you how to make, bake, grow, and provide for your own families and dear ones in their coming time of need, even from your own back yard. On that day you will know that it is Jesus Christ who loves you and has sent us to help you survive the troubled times ahead. But until then we hope you enjoy our products, which comes from being made the old fashioned way.

Hope Farm, always your friends in time of need.
